How the 'Magic Bullet' Covered Up a Monumental Double Cross (Part 2)

Some long awaited truth behind what Arlen Specter's 'magic bullet' was designed to hide.

Part One of this article revealed the story Senator John Tower told Detective Sergeant Gary Wean about E. Howard Hunt’s Big Event that was supposed to be a fake assassination attempt so real, with a trail leading to right to Castro’s door, that the United States would then have the pretext they needed, with the full backing of the American people, to invade Cuba. Hunt had asked Oswald to take part in his plan and, by the end of Part One, Oswald knew his life was in danger because Hunt’s plan had been infiltrated by persons unknown to him. With Kennedy dead, Oswald was designated the ‘lone-nut’ assassin in a panicked coverup, which Arlen Specter ‘proved’ with the help of a ‘magic bullet’ that caused seven wounds in JFK and Governor Connolly combined. Part Two reveals some of the men behind the double cross that sent Hunt’s CIA team into panic.

Friends and foe alike had merged onto the streets of Dallas on that fateful day in November, some to wish Kennedy well, others to bid him farewell. Some may have even muttered, “Good riddance” when the final shot rang out across Dealey Plaza. Before the final curtain was drawn on the actors, stage settings and props used that day, Kennedy’s enemies dissipated into the air more rapidly than the gun smoke seen on the grassy knoll. Even their presence in films and photographs was blotted out by those in control of concealing the truth of an assassination that Nixon would refer to in future as “the Bay of Pigs thing.”

The erasing of people began with the planning of the motorcade route by the Traffic Safety Committee on 5 May 1963, pictured below. Present at this meeting were (from left) Senator Ben Arnold (a good friend of Senator Barry Goldwater), William Randolph Hearst Jr, JFK, and Mayor West. I first became intrigued by the tampering of photos and films after watching a documentary about the assassination in 2012. When it showed the motorcade passing the Texas School Book Depository (TSBD), the commentator acknowledged that a number of CIA men were there to farewell the president.² It is hard to forget a comment like that. Predictably, the documentary has disappeared down the Internet’s memory hole. All that is now left of the TSBD scene in a different video clip is a black smudging out of the people lining the road to get a close up view of events (on the left below the silhouette of the tall man in the fedora hat). Even most of those standing on the steps in the TSBD entrance are similarly blacked out (center).

Of note, the tall man in the fedora hat also appears in the famous Altgen’s photo (close-up below standing next to Oswald). Mysteriously, a small child wearing a hat now hides his face, and a woman is standing to the right and slightly behind him. The African Americans in the foreground look cut and pasted, and there is some cutting and pasting around Oswald.³ A man standing in shirtsleeves to the right of Oswald has his face in shadow, or has been greyed out.

Using a filter I was able to see that the man wore glasses, and also perhaps has a mustache. One could perhaps wonder if this man attracted the attention of the security agents looking in his direction. In the foreground, President Kennedy has just been shot in the throat, seen here with his fist clenched.

Since there are no steps past the entrance to the TSBD, the man in the fedora hat must be very tall.

The tall man has always intrigued me. Who was he, and why has someone tried to disguise his presence? Interestingly, a tall man wearing a fedora hat appears in the three ‘tramps’ photo in the aftermath of the assassination, to the right of the first ‘tramp’ at left, with his face blacked out.

This photo was taken outside the TSBD. Clearly he was not there to greet the President, or wish him well. What looks to be his female companion, has her hand over her face as if in shock that the three ‘tramps’ have been arrested, or perhaps to disguise her identity. As an aside, the ‘tramps’ were released without charges, with no record that they were ever arrested.⁴

There is only one man from among those working with the CIA and Cuban-exiles this tall that I know of, and that is Gerry Patrick Hemming,⁵ who stood at 6 foot 6-7 inches. The woman standing near him looks like Marita Lorenz, the lover Fidel Castro took with him to New York during his first months in power in 1959. The following year Frank Sturgis recruited her to work for the CIA and she later took part in a failed attempt to poison Castro.

During Gaeton Fonzi’s interview of Lorenz for the House Select Committee on Assassinations,⁶ she said that Hemming and Sturgis were part of a ‘caravan’ driving from Miami to Dallas for the November 22 event. Of note, Hemming said he was in Miami on the day of the assassination. If that is true, he would not have been able to make the following comment, attributed to him, about what happened during the assassination:  

The one thing we do know is none of the [assassination] teams knew the existence of the others ... when they heard the shots, they would flinch because they weren’t sure that they’d been spotted and somebody was trying to take them out. ... you can put a smile on the shooter’s face because then he realizes that it’s a super-pro job and there are backup and decoy teams and that’s where those shots are coming from. Silencers were used extensively. These were sonic silencers purchased through Mitchell WerBell.⁷⁸

As if to confirm that Hemming spoke these words, during a panel discussion at the 1996 Lancer Conference, he said the television show Jeopardy should have asked the following question, to which he gave the reply:

“Who should have been arrested in the immediate aftermath of the Kennedy assassination?” And the winning answer would have been, Gerry Patrick Hemming, Mitchell WerBell ... and a long list of other people. When that didn't happen, we knew there was a coverup.⁹

A French journalist, William Reymond, stated in another ‘disappeared’ documentary, JFK Coup D’état Finally Revealed, that he had information there were “likely more than three, three-man shooter teams in at least three locations” in Dealey Plaza, and he knew the identities of some of them.

This seems to back up what Oswald said about Hunt’s plan being infiltrated by people he did not know. He told his lover, Judyth Vary Baker, that it was a right wing group that planned to assassinate Kennedy.¹⁰ He made no mention of an anti-Castro Cuban group, for he had been keeping an eye on them – much to the discomfort of Gerry Patrick Hemming who ran a training camp for them to assassinate Castro.¹¹ Judyth Vary Baker wrote:

Robert Kennedy instructed Guy Bannister to hold a meeting in his office with an important anti-Castro group. Bannister then positioned Lee so he could view (and perhaps photograph) each member as they entered Bannister’s office, presumably so he would be able to recognize them in future.¹²

Doug Horne noted during the Assassination Review Board’s effort to reconcile the conflicting medical evidence in the JFK assassination:

To focus on who might have been involved in the plot's execution, we interviewed soldier of fortune Gerry Patrick Hemming. He said that so many enemies wanted JFK dead that November that it would be impossible to ever confirm which conspiracy took – but that he knew of one cabal that collected but didn't actually complete the conspiracy.¹³

From what I have read of Hemming it is hard to pin him down regarding the JFK assassination. He let certain things slip from time-to-time, but by and large he was cagey about what he revealed. It is also important to point out that during training the CIA teaches new recruits how to lie. So saying, perhaps the following reveal may be close to the truth. He spoke of at least one faction of anti-Castro Cuban exiles who seemed to be out of the conventional loop:

It's hard to say exactly who this select group of Cuban exiles was really working for. For a while they were reporting to Bill Harvey's ex-FBI CIA guys. Some were reporting back to [J. Edgar] Hoover, or the new [Defense Intelligence Agency].

There was a third force—pretty much outside CIA channels, outside our own private operation down in the [Florida] Keys—that was doing all kinds of shit, and had been all through 1963. [emphasis added]

Then after the assassination, a lot of us presumed that somewhere down the line, the KGB was orchestrating with Fidel to do the Dallas job. Not until later did we figure out that most of the exiles being approached were being set up as patsies themselves.

And not by Castro or the Russians. It was domestic. Somebody like J. Edgar Hoover. Who else had the power?¹⁴

And that is a good question. Who else had the power?

Returning to Gary Wean’s meeting with Senator John Tower in Ruidoso (covered in Part One), recall that Tower gave Wean documents backing up everything he said about Hunt’s ‘fake assassination’ plot. With the envelope still sealed and its contents unread, Audie Murphy kept it in his personal safe, at Wean’s request. However, after this meeting, Wean’s curiosity was aroused and he privately kept his ear to the ground regarding the Kennedy assassination. He likely later learned when he read the contents in the envelope, possibly after Audie Murphy’s death in 1971 in a plane crash, that the documents contained explosive information not mentioned during their meeting.

After presenting these documents to U.S. Government Agents, they gave Wean “precise information as to their contents and even the exact number of pages and where other information is contained.” Among the documents were the files containing the exact information of his 1963 meeting in Ruidoso with Senator John Tower.¹⁵

This is where the verifiable proof is that totally contradicts the official version of what happened on 22 November 1963, that ‘lone gunman’ Lee Harvey Oswald shot President Kennedy. Can you imagine that the CIA will ever allow the release of these documents? They will block their release in the name of ‘national security’. As you read on you will understand why, and why Joe Biden’s promised 1988 Senate Judiciary Committee hearing about Tower’s claims of a ‘fake assassination’ involving the CIA was sabotaged by Senators Arlen Specter and Biden in a cover-up that involved the entire Senate – much to Gary Wean’s frustration.

Wean wrote in 1996:

Others even more culpable [than Senator John Tower] were George Bush’s father [Prescott Bush] and Arlen Specter. Hunt had failed to look to his flank (a monumental blunder).¹⁶

At the time he wrote this, Wean refrained from mentioning Specter’s co-conspirator, but in his Notices and Reports to the People, dated 2 October 1998, he identified him as William Cohen who, with Senator Specter’s backing, became Clinton’s Secretary of Defense in 1997. Wean wrote of this:

This appointment is necessary to protect Caspar Weinberger who as Sec. of Defense had for years been in charge of all the gun-running to foreign countries and the smuggling of drugs into the U.S. If the real reason for George Bush’s pardon of Weinberger was exposed the entire Mishpucka [Jewish Mafia]¹⁷ would be destroyed. In 1987 When I took all of the information and evidence to the U.S. Senate, John Tower was alive and well. He gave me his word and solemn promise that he would testify before a Senate investigative hearing and present evidence of the ‘phony’ plot to kill JFK which led to the ‘real assassination.’ Senator John Tower is now dead...killed in a mysterious plane crash identical to Audie Murphy’s death.

In Ruidoso, Sen. Tower had stated to us and gave us documentation that the U.S. Senators had sanctioned the murder of JFK. And that Arlen Specter and William Cohen were working with Senator Barry Goldwater¹⁸ in implementing the real assassination in Dallas, Texas.

The naive CIA agents whose responsibility it was to set up the phony assassination had been cleverly duped and blamed when JFK was actually killed. They were shocked and petrified. The country’s immediate, horrified reaction to the assassination was a terrible chaos, it started thousands of conflicting rumors implicating hundreds of different people and organizations. It was precisely the ‘scape-goat Modus Operandi’ that the [Mishpucka] love and always use. It is their ‘trade-mark’.

Wean was quite correct. The truth of the Kennedy assassination was splintered “into a thousand pieces” like Kennedy wanted to do with the CIA. The image that comes to mind is of a huge shattered mirror in an old house with high ceilings, the shards of its remains scattered over the floor, impossible to piece back together. That was the intention. While the rumor mills spun false stories and limited hangouts, the Oswald story and the impossible ‘magic bullet’ was done to death, along with the CIA and the mob-did-it, or the Cuban-exiles-did-it theories and, like decoys used for greyhound races, it all went around and around in never-ending circles. After sixty years of this insanity I would expect concerned Americans to demand to know the truth.

If journalists had investigated who was behind the making of Oswald the patsy, a whole different story would have emerged from the outset, but I will save that for another day. Arlen Specter, who knew the truth, then misled the people and the Warren Commission by making sure a “magic bullet” created seven wounds in two men to permanently cast Oswald as the lone assassin. Right there, with the impossible ballistics of such a feat, most thinking people should have asked, “Does Arlen Specter have something to hide?”

As it turned out, many thinking people did not buy Specter’s story and demanded a new investigation. Regarding the growing criticism, the CIA stated in a 1967 document that the Commission’s Report was “a matter of concern to the U.S. government, including our organization.”¹⁹ Doubling down on the Warren Commission’s lies to counter calls for a new investigation, Allen Dulles then called on Arlen Specter who helped out by writing “a ringing defense of the Warren Report.” James Jesus Angleton²⁰ and Ray Rocca,²¹ both staunch supporters of Dulles, ran a propaganda campaign on behalf of the Commission’s findings. Critics were smeared as “conspiracy theorists,” and Dulles “compiled dirt” on writers like Mark Lane who repudiated the report.²²

We could also ask these defenders of lies, “What were you trying to hide?”

Other men lied by omission, or by withholding information. This would include the Kennedy appointed CIA Director, John McCone who, along with other senior CIA officials, withheld information from the Warren Commission about the numerous (600 or so) CIA and Mafia plots to assassinate Castro. CIA historian David Robarge concluded in a 2013 report:

McCone did have a place in a “benign cover-up,” or what also has been termed “a process designed more to control information than to elicit and expose it.” The protective response by McCone and other US government officials was inherent in the conflict between the Warren Commission’s stated purpose – ascertaining the facts of the assassination – and implied in its mission – defending the nation's security by dispelling unfounded rumors that could lead to destructive international conflict.

The DCI was complicit in keeping incendiary and diversionary issues off the commission’s agenda and focusing it on what the Agency believed at the time was the “best truth”: that Lee Harvey Oswald, for as yet undetermined motives, had acted alone in killing John Kennedy.²³

McCone has remained in the shadows of the JFK assassination investigations. It might be a good question to ask why. Of note here, Lee Harvey Oswald told Judyth Vary Baker before the assassination:²⁴

“If Kennedy dies, a new system of government will take over. It will exist to generate profit; mostly by waging wars that will not result in clear victories.”

We only have to look at what happened in Vietnam, Afghanistan, what is happening now in Ukraine, and the mess in the Middle East to see the truth in this statement. It should be clear to most by now that that endless war, spurred on by the need to feed the Military Industrial Complex machine, is what President Eisenhower warned about during his farewell speech in 1961.

In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the Military Industrial Complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist.

We must never let the weight of this combination endanger our liberties or democratic processes. We should take nothing for granted. Only an alert and knowledgeable citizenry can compel the proper meshing of the huge industrial and military machinery of defense with our peaceful methods and goals, so that security and liberty may prosper together. [My emphasis]

JFK assassination researcher and writer Peter Janney added:

But the military-industrial complex of which Eisenhower spoke had a third, unnamed component: intelligence.

And a fourth: medical – or ‘big pharma’. ²⁵

Unbeknown to most, John McCone was part of this Military Industrial Complex and had been involved in many lucrative wartime projects which should have raised a few eyebrows when he took over the directorship of the CIA. John McCone was an oil man with ties to Standard Oil of California, in which he had a million dollars worth of stock. In 1937, he joined with Stephen D. Bechtel to form Bechtel McCone Parson's Corporation of Los Angeles, a company that designed and built oil refineries and power plants for installations in the Unites States and abroad. He took over the Panama Tankers, a fleet of oil tankers. He raked in huge profits during WWII with his California Shipbuilding Company, and outfitting B-29 bombers for combat.

When Drew Pearson delved into McCone’s business background he claimed that McCone “made more money out of Uncle Sam on war contracts than perhaps any other man now working for Government.” However, during his confirmation hearing for undersecretary of the Air Force, McCone denied he had engaged in wartime profiteering and conflicts of interest.²⁶

The misplaced power of the Military Industrial Complex that Eisenhower spoke about was already evident before he became president, for in 1949 the CIA took out the democratically elected president in Syria to enable Bechtel to finish the construction of the Trans-Arabian Pipeline for the Sauds’ and Rockefellers’ oil from Saudi Arabia to European countries, which would crowd out Russian oil. In the video below, CIA agent Miles Copeland Jr, in an interview with the BBC in 1967, admits that the CIA orchestrated and staged the coup against President Shukri al-Kuwatli.²⁷

Bechtel could rely on “friends in high places” – Ronald Reagan, George Bush, and Dwight Eisenhower, and more than a little help from Bechtel men, George Schulz, who became Secretary of State under Reagan, and Casper Weinberger who was Reagan’s Secretary of Defense. And there’s more. What an interesting little group below spending time at Bohemian Grove, where these men can discuss all kinds of business behind the scenes and away from prying eyes.

What would have unraveled if a connection had been made between the companies ousted from Cuba, like United Fruit, the closing of Meyer Lansky’s and the Mob’s casinos, and the CIA’s Bay of Pigs invasion? What about the the various business groups Castro angered when he made land reforms that forbade the ownership of property by foreigners, and signed trade agreements with Russia. Such actions are seen as threats to America’s “national security interests.” A chilling statement made in John Pilger’s documentary, The War on Democracy, by Duane Clarridge, the CIA Chief in Latin America from 1981-1984, highlights America’s attitude in foreign policy:

We’ll intervene whenever we decide it’s in our national security interests to intervene. And if you don’t like it, lump it. Get used to it, world. We’re not gonna put up with nonsense. If our interests are threatened, we’re gonna do it.

Wanting world peace, John F. Kennedy became a threat to America’s “national security interests.” But that was not all, as most people know.

2. As if to deliver the president almost into the arms of his enemies before he was shot, the limousine pulled out wide during the turn into Elm Street. This wide turn is not seen in the Zapruder film available on the internet, but can be seen in the unedited version procured by H.L. Hunt. A French journalist, William Reymond, talks about this turn with Jim Marrs.

In another ‘disappeared’ documentary, JFK Coup D’état Finally Revealed, from which I took notes, French journalist William Reymond stated that the first “hobo” on the left was a French mercenary known to be the best rifle shot in the world by French Intelligence at that time, who fired one of the head shots and was the primary shooter. The others were back-ups.

20. James Jesus Angleton was CIA counterintelligence chief and a close friend of Allen Dulles. Along with William K. Harvey (also of counterintelligence), Angleton had searched for assassins to kill Castro (David Talbot, The Devil’s Chessboard, p. 22). To this end, Angleton asked two Jewish CIA agents, one of which was Sam Halpern, to fly to Miami to meet with Meyer Lansky who was part of the Mishpucka, with close ties to the Mob, to see if he could arrange to assassinate Castro. When Angleton’s successors cracked open his legendary safes and vaults, out spilled the sordid secrets of a lifetime service to Allen Dulles. ... The safecracking team was also horrified to find files relating to both Kennedy assassinations and stomach turning-photos taken of Robert Kennedy’s autopsy, which were promptly burned. 21. Ray Rocca “felt that Garrison would indeed obtain a conviction of [Clay] Shaw for conspiring to assassinate President Kennedy.” (See No. 3 of CIA Memorandum below.) The CIA went into overdrive to derail Garrison’s trial of Clay Shaw. Shaw was connected to the cancer causing bio-weapon to kill Castro that Oswald was involved with. He was also connected to David Ferry, Guy Banister, and Dr. Alton Ochsner, among others. Of particular note, Shaw served on the Permindex board of directors. According to Michael Collins Piper in Final Judgment, Permindex was connected to the joint Mossad-CIA-Lansky Organized Crime Syndicate, which would have connected Israel to JFK’s assassination. This had to be kept secret at all cost.

Peter Janney, the son of Wistar Janney who signed this document, and who wrote Mary’s Mosaic: The CIA Conspiracy to Murder John F. Kennedy, Mary Pinchot Meyer, and Their Vision for World Peace, wrote of the document on page 448:

That statement was nothing less than prima facie evidence of the CIA’s involvement in the assassination of a sitting U.S. President, which amounted to an open, documented admission by a high level CIA officer – during an internal CIA meeting – that Clay Shaw (as well as the CIA itself) was “indeed” part of the conspiracy to assassinate President Kennedy. Since its release in 1998, few JFK assassination researchers have even mentioned this document, much less understood its true significance. The CIA orchestrated coup against Syria took place on the 29th March ending democratic rule in the country. The CIA chose Husni al-Za'im, Cheif of Staff of the Army as their man to overthrow President Shukri al-Kuwatli of Syria.

The CIA backed coup destroyed Syria and plunged it into years of political instability and chaos.

This coup was subsequently followed by more coup's that eventually led to a series of events which culminated in the rise of Hafez al-Assad to power in 1971.
